Sermon Notes: India Report Psalm 67

India Report – September 11, 2022

Psalm 67 is a song / prayer that reflects from the heart of the writer the heart of God captured from the beginning of the Scriptures.

1. May God be gracious to us; may he make is face shine upon us 2. so that your way may be known on earth, you salvation among all nations. 3. Let he peoples praise you, God; let all the peoples praise you. 4. Let the nations rejoice and shout for joy, for you judge the peoples with fairness and lead the nations on earth. 5. Let the peoples praise you God, let all the peoples praise you. 6. The earth has produced its harvest; God, our God, blesses us. 7. God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him.

2. Genesis 10 the table of nations and Genesis 11 the Tower of Babel
3. Genesis 11 the missionary call of Abraham to see that all those nations were told about Jesus and invited to come into his kingdom and thus the foundation of Jesus’ command for his church, the Israel of God, to disciple all the nations as the final act of obedience for his church. 

We say it like this: For God’s glory disciple the nations by being and producing radical followers of Jesus Christ. 

1. This is not to be a guilt trip presentation in which we make folks who didn’t get to go, don’t have a desire to go, or might not get to have an opportunity to go feel guilty.
   1. Going / Global engagement overall, is a corporate function before it is an individual function. 
   2. We go together when we send individuals. We participate together as we fund and care for TRC members engaging their domains all around the world.
      1. We all have a mission to fulfill in the church’s great commission work.
         1. Engaging our domain as missionaries and disciple makers.
            1. Imagine what it would look like if every Christian did what the Good Samaritan did and shared the gospel?
            2. The church would be the premier agent of healing and mission sending agency on the planet. 
            3. As it is, as individual members of the local church, we have a global role .

         3. Praying
         4. Providing physical supplies and needs to send to our partners and members who live overseas. 
      2. The Great Commission is a whole church activity that requires the whole church to engage in all of it for sending it’s people whether short-term or long-term. 
2. This is a report of what we all did together. 
3. Leh to Kargil to the Suru Valley.
   1. We’ve been working with Gulzar since we began working with Afghans in Delhi, and got connected through Red Oak Church/SWO over 6 years ago. 
   2. Gulzar owns and operates an adventure company in Leh, India called Snowbird Himalaya Adventures.
4. Target: Suru Valley outside of Kargil, India.
   1. There are 300 villages in the Suru Valley. 
   2. All villages are Muslim and are unreached. 
   3. Prior to Covid, we began supporting some children for their education, and we continue to do that. 
   4. We had the opportunity to visit with some of the children who are benefiting from TRC’s giving in receiving their training. 
   5. We support Gulzar and Rebekah (Isaac and Elia).

Conclusion: Corporate Prayer

Ezekiel 36:37-38 (ESV) 37 “Thus says the Lord GOD: This also I will let the house of Israel ask me to do for them: to increase their people like a flock. 38 Like the flock for sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”

1. Increase TRC members.
2. Increase our holiness and maturity so that we are flocks worthy of sacrifice. 
3. Increase our going and our sending of TRC folks to the nations.
